In the shelter’s words
Thelma is a female cat who is experiencing severe medical concerns, including feline infectious respiratory disease (FIRD) that has not responded to treatment, ringworm, and failure to thrive. Despite receiving medical care and supportive treatment, Thelma has not shown the expected improvement, and her ongoing respiratory illness and inability to thrive raise significant concerns about her overall health and quality of life. She requires continued specialized veterinary care, further medical evaluation, and potentially more intensive treatment and monitoring than we can consistently provide in the shelter environment.Despite her condition, Thelma deserves the opportunity for compassionate, individualized care in a safe and appropriate setting. She needs an experienced, dedicated placement where she can receive continued veterinary treatment, supportive care, nutritional monitoring, and appropriate management of her ringworm and persistent respiratory disease. This pet is at risk for euthanasia due to medical concerns beyond our scope of care. If you are interested in adopting, fostering, or rescuing Thelma, please email dasadopt@dallas.gov. When emailing, please include a callback number.
