In the shelter’s words
Freya came to Revelation Gardens as a tiny kitten after she was found underneath a community member’s mobile home. She started out with a room of her own while she settled in, and over time we slowly introduced her to a group of male cats. Freya had no trouble finding her place among the boys—and found a particularly good friend in Scout. The two became wonderful companions, playing, exploring and wrestling together. But while Scout is an important part of Freya’s life, they aren’t a bonded pair who need to be adopted together. Scout has some ongoing health needs, and we don’t believe Freya should miss the opportunity for a home of her own because her friend may need to remain in sanctuary care. Freya is a playful, curious and affectionate girl. She loves to explore and burn off some energy, but when playtime is over, she’s just as happy curling up in a lap for some love. Freya currently lives at our second sanctuary location, which is not part of our regular visiting hours. That doesn’t mean she isn’t ready for a home—quite the opposite. Freya has had a room of her own, a group of boys to grow up with and a best friend to teach her about companionship. Now she’s ready to see what having a family of her own might be like.

Once you’ve found a rescue you’d like to welcome into your family, the first step is completing our adoption application. Our adoption process is designed to help create lasting matches. We’ll talk with you about the animal you’ve chosen and make sure their personality, needs, and energy level are a good fit for your home and lifestyle. We’ll also verify references and, in some circumstances—particularly with dog adoptions—may conduct a home visit. We aren’t looking for a perfect home. We’re looking for the right fit for both you and the animal. Our adoption fee is $125 and includes spay/neuter, current rabies vaccination, and flea/tick prevention (the fee for bonded pairs is $150 for both). Once your application is approved, we’ll schedule a time to complete the adoption paperwork and welcome your new family member home.
