Meet Yoshi (A1735038), a distinguished 11-year-old, 51 lb. Pit Bull Terrier mix currently looking for his next chapter at the Eastside Shelter. Coming from a home where his owner transitioned into hospice care, this housebroken 51-pound senior is used to the comforts of indoor living.He is a sweet, sensitive companion who loves romping on the grass and is easy to leash when approached calmly from the front.Because Yoshi has a mature cataract in his left eye, he is blind on that side and can be easily startled if approached or reached for from the left. He has a history of growling or barking if unfamiliar men try to pet him on his blind side, and he would do best in a calm, adult-only home without young children.He also requires a separate feeding space due to resource guarding over food and treats, and an adopter who can manage his occasional exuberant play mouthing.While Yoshi has shown mixed body language around other dogs, he has lived with small dogs previously and may succeed with a calm, well-socialized dog his own age who can set good boundaries during play. Adopters are encouraged to take advantage of available training resources to help Yoshi settle in.
