In the shelter’s words

Meet Benito ❤️ Male DOB: April 10, 2022 Weight: 45 pounds Breed: Australian Shepherd / Dalmatian Mix Neutered (Fixed) Vaccinated Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Benito has been waiting… and waiting… and still, his heart stays just as full of love. For the past two years, he’s been with the rescue, watching other dogs find their homes while he patiently hopes his turn will come. He doesn’t understand why he’s still here—but he never stops being the happy, loving dog he’s always been. Personality Benito is a joyful, affectionate dog who truly loves people. He has a happy, easygoing spirit and brings warmth wherever he goes. He enjoys being around others, soaking up attention, and simply being part of a family. He’s the kind of dog who greets you with happiness, stays close, and makes you feel like you matter. His love is genuine, steady, and always there. Breed Info As an Australian Shepherd / Dalmatian mix, Benito carries traits of: Intelligence and awareness A loyal, people-focused nature A balanced mix of energy and companionship This mix creates a dog who is engaged, loving, and adaptable, happy to be active but also content just being with his people. Ideal Home Benito would do best in a home where he is finally given the love and stability he has been waiting for. He will thrive with a family who includes him in daily life and gives him the attention he deserves. Owner Responsibilities Benito will need regular exercise, routine, and continued care. Like all dogs, he requires structure, guidance, and a lifelong commitment. Things to Consider He has been waiting longer than most. Please consider opening your home to a dog who truly deserves a chance. Sometimes the ones who wait the longest are the ones who love the hardest. The 3-3-3 Rule 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience and love, Benito will finally get the life he’s been waiting for. Veterinary Care Benito is fully vetted, but we always recommend bringing him to your own veterinarian after adoption to continue his care. Important Note Benito is an indoor family dog. He is not to be chained or left outside.
