Hi! I'm Skeeter. I was surrendered to Mickaboo after I got attacked by a dog - I lost part of my wing and had to have some surgery, which got pretty expensive, so Mickaboo took me in to fund and oversee my recovery. My age is a bit of a guess but we think I might be 5 or so.Part of my wing was amputated, but I'm all healed up now and I am a real character! I'm a smart bird - I don't like hands but I often figure out what my foster parent wants me to do, like get in my carrier. I love to whistle! And I love veggies - arugula, broccoli, sweet potatoes, green peas, corn, goldfish crackers(!), orzo, rice and pasta are all fine with me.When I see other birds flying in my foster person's house I try to fly as well, but I can't, so I get frustrated. I'd love to live with another bird that doesn't fly, at least that often. I've made progress on being OK with hands - I used to be terrified even of my foster person changing my water dish and stuff but I'm getting used to that now and I don't freak out as much.
