In the shelter’s words

Some dogs give their hearts away immediately. Billie prefers to make sure you deserve hers first—and once you earn it, you’ve got something pretty special. Billie is a sweet little Chihuahua with a gentle, sensitive spirit. New people and unfamiliar situations can make her a little unsure at first, so she appreciates humans who are willing to give her the time and space she needs to feel safe. There’s no rushing this girl—but watching her walls come down and her personality begin to shine is absolutely worth the wait. Once Billie decides you’re one of her people, that cautious little Chihuahua transforms into an affectionate, devoted companion who loves being close. Cozy lap time, quiet evenings together, and simply hanging out with her favorite human are right up her alley. She forms deep bonds, and when Billie loves you, she really loves you. Another dog is an important part of helping Billie feel confident in the world. She does well with other dogs and must have a confident, well-socialized canine companion in her forever home. Having a furry friend to follow helps Billie navigate new experiences, learn the routine, and understand that everything is going to be okay. Quick Facts Chihuahua ❤️ Sweet, gentle, affectionate, and incredibly loyal Takes a little time to warm up and build trust Forms a wonderful bond with her people once comfortable ️ Loves lap time, cuddles, and quiet companionship Dog friendly ⭐ Must have a confident, well-socialized canine companion in her new home Thrives with patience, consistency, and a predictable routine Benefits from positive, confidence-building guidance Would do best in a home without young children A family experienced with shy or sensitive dogs would be a wonderful match Located in Southern California Billie isn’t looking for someone to change who she is. She’s looking for someone who will give her the security and patience she needs to become the best version of herself. Give this little girl time, love, and a canine best friend to show her the ropes, and Billie will give you something wonderful in return—her trust, her loyalty, and her whole heart.
