In the shelter’s words
Starting October 6, all cats and kittens are FREE to adopt! Come find your new best friend today!☀️ A Golden Oldie Looking for a Sunny Spot to Call Home ☀️Meet Jasper, a 13-year-old senior gentleman who is searching for a loving retirement home. He came to us after his owner could no longer care for him, and now he's hoping to find a quiet place where he can spend his days basking in the sunshine and snoozing on a soft, cozy pillow.Jasper is the kind of cat who appreciates life's simple pleasures. A warm sunbeam, a comfortable bed, and a caring person nearby are all he needs to be happy. In his previous home, Jasper lived successfully with other cats and small dogs, making him a great fit for a home with respectful furry companions. While Jasper isn't a fan of being picked up, he tolerates short periods of handling when approached gently and with patience. Like many senior cats, he knows what he likes and appreciates a family that respects his boundaries. If you're looking for a calm, sweet companion to share your home and your heart, Jasper is ready to spend his golden years by your side, one cozy nap at a time. ❤️Jasper's adoption fee is $25, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: https://www.acskc.org/adopt-1Once your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet! We welcome adopters from out of state to apply! _When it comes to our pets, we're all-inclusive! Plan a visit with the source organization
Once you’re ready to adopt, head over to our Adoption Application to fill out and submit the form. Once our Adoption Team has reviewed and approved your application, we will give you a call to schedule an appointment with the pet! When you arrive at ACSKC, you will be greeted by our Adoption Coordinator and taken to meet the pet, either in our Meet and Greet Room or one of the play yards. If you already have pets in the home, you may be asked to bring them with you for a meet and greet to ensure they will get along in the home (this typically only applies to dogs). If you and our Adoption Coordinator feel like it is a good match, we will then finalize the paperwork and send you home with a bag of goodies, including our “Welcoming Your New Pet Home Guide,” toys, treats and a sample bag of their pet food. If it is not a good match, you are welcome to meet the other available pets in the shelter. Your approved application will be kept on file for 90 days, so you’re encouraged to take your time before making a decision!
