In the shelter’s words
Mr. Boombastic is my official name, my foster mom calls me Boomer, just saying. I like all humans, & all dogs too, & I’m also really good at entertaining myself with what to do. 5 month old male black lab mix, weighing in at 36, learned tricks like sit & potty & crate trained real quicks. Sleep in my crate quiet as a mouse, 100% potty trained & can hold it while you’re sleeping or away from our house. I loves going on car rides, & fetch & hide & seek are fun too, & oh how I like to bounce & throw my toys in the air then pounce. I pass out & snuggle with you, but am also quite content on the cold floor near our couch.

Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
