In the shelter’s words
Meet Louis! At just a year old, Louis is a pint-sized pittie with a permanent puppy face that he's clearly in no hurry to outgrow. He's the kind of dog who believes every person is a potential new best friend—and he's usually right!Louis is equal parts athlete and cuddle expert. He loves a good game of fetch, can't resist a spirited round of tug, and when playtime is over, he's happy to curl up for snuggles. As an active puppy, he's looking for a family ready for adventures, walks, and plenty of play to keep his busy mind and body happy. When it comes to other dogs, Louis likes a calm introduction. Once everyone has said hello, he's all about the fun—think chase games, wrestling matches, and zoomies with his canine pals.If you're looking for a sweet, social sidekick with a heart full of love and a face you'll never stop smiling at, Louis is ready to meet you!Current weight: 52lbsAdoption Fee: $250To Apply: fcrspca.org/adopt

Plan a visit with the source organization
We require all interested families to come in to the shelter and meet the dog or dogs that they are interested in (unless they meet a dog at an adoption event). We have a very thorough application which they can fill out and return to the shelter - we do not provide applications on line. We check vet, personal, and landlord references (we require a signed letter from the landlord and confirmation via phone call that pets are allowed). When an application is approved, we set up a meet and greet if there are other animals in the household. If not, the kids are ready to go home. We encourage all potential adopters to spend as much time with the dog(s) as possible before they head home, and an adoption contract is signed before the dog(s) go(es) home.
