In the shelter’s words
8/27/2026Milo V is an owner surrender looking for a new home.Hi! My name is Milo V! I am a handsome 6 year old flashy fawn boy that is an owner surrender due to my family having a baby and moving into an apartment with no yard. I am described as friendly, active, and playful! I do not currently live with another dog but am said to be good around female dogs and unknown how I am with male dogs. I live with two cats and I am great with them! I will chase them but once I can tell they aren't playing anymore I will walk away. I currently live with 3 kids (ages 9 month to 4 years) and I am good with them, however I do not know my size and will accidentally knock over a smaller child if playing, but I mean no harm! I will bark at unfamiliar people in my home, especially if in my crate, but once I see my humans interacting with them I am fine. I am house trained, crate trained, have had basic training, some leash training, and at night I sleep in my crate in the living room. I enjoy toppings such as eggs, blueberries, and fish oil toppings on my food. If the humans must be away I am kept outside or in my crate during hot weather. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. I do not like brooms so I will not be assisting with house chores. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, playing fetch, sniff boards with hidden treats, and playing with the water hose! My current owner says I am "perfect" and am "super smart and a fast learner" and I agree! If you think I would make a great addition to your family, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!

Plan a visit with the source organization
The Process to adopt a dog through Austin Boxer Rescue is as follows: Fill out an Online Adoption Application below. Your application will be reviewed and sent to a volunteer in your area. The volunteer will contact you to schedule a home visit within one week. Normally, a volunteer would come to your house for a home visit, but until further notice, visits are being done virtually. After your home visit is complete and you are approved you can begin meeting dogs. The Adoption Coordinator will assist you in this process. Please note: The application process begins immediately once an application is submitted and approvals tend to occur quickly. Please do not submit an application unless you are ready to take home a dog. ABR does not have the space or capability to hold dogs, therefore, dogs are adopted out on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you are not able to proceed with a home visit when contacted by an ABR volunteer then your application will be filed away. We will ask you to resubmit your application if you wish to adopt later date. Every dog adopted will have the following: Current on vaccinations and dewormed Spayed or neutered Will be micro chipped Will be treated for heartworms and/or on heartworm prevention Any additional medical problems will be treated and paid for by the rescue.
