In the shelter’s words

Meet Barkley! Barkley is an adorable, tiny terrier mix with an estimated birthday of August 29, 2026. This sweet little guy is busy doing what puppies do best—eating, sleeping, and growing! When he's not catching up on his beauty sleep, he enjoys playing with his sister Bonnie or snuggling up with his foster parents. Barkley is looking for a patient, loving family who understands the time and commitment that come with raising a puppy, including potty training, crate training, socialization, and learning basic manners. With lots of love, patience, and consistency, this little sweetheart is sure to grow into a wonderful companion. Could Barkley be the missing piece of your family? If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup, please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application. Our team will review your application, and if it is a good fit, we will be in touch! The $550 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate/required vaccinations, heartworm treatment, and any other necessary medical care to ensure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe the breed, since our pups all come from shelters, we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *Please note that we are a foster home-based rescue, and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.
