In the shelter’s words
DOB: 4/1/2016 A Second Chance for Demeter: A Very Special Senior Heart At 10 years young, Demeter finds herself searching for love once again. After being returned due to a growing family, this gentle soul is taking it all in stride, waiting patiently for a home that will commit to her for the rest of her golden years. Demeter is truly one of a kind. Beyond her uniquely endearing face and soulful green eyes, she has a heart full of pure sweetness. She is a low-maintenance, loving companion who enjoys brushing, soft pets, afternoon naps, and the occasional snack. She has a bit of extra plushness to love, making her all the better for cozy snuggles! Demeter’s Top 4 Favorite Things: Brushing: She will sit happily forever if you keep the pampering coming. Attention: She thrives on human connection and sweet head-pats. Naps: A professional-grade snoozer. Treats: She enjoys the finer things in life (hence the lovely "chunky monkey" figure!). Senior cats make the absolute best companions—they come pre-trained in affection, chilling out, and loving unconditionally. Help us give Demeter the happily-ever-after she’s been waiting for! **Come meet me at the cage free Adoption Center!! All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV/FeLV. If interested in adopting me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process. Due to the large number of inquiries received, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.**

We have an application that requires the potential adopter to wait until their application can be verified. Once everything checks out the adopter comes and picks up their new fur member of the family and signs a contract. One of the highlights of our contract states that if for ANY reason at ANY time they cannot care for the animal, they must return the cat or dog back to Colony Cats (& dogs). Our adoption fees are $125 for kittens 6 months and younger; $75 for kittens over 6 months and adults up to 7 years; $50 for 7 years and older. If adopting 2 kittens/cats at the same time there is a $25 discount. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, Feline Leukemia and FIV tested (cats), heartworm tested (dogs), microchip, flea prevention, vaccinations (FVRCP for cats and DHLPP for dogs), rabies vaccine (if kittens or puppies are old enough to receive a rabies vaccine). If not, the new owner will need to go to their vet to get this done.
