Bixby is such a cute adult cat. He loves to talk to you and he is playful and outgoing once he gets to know you. We've just had his teeth cleaned, which was not really necessary because his teeth were in perfect shape; and blood work on him shows he’s in perfectly good health as well. He's ready to go and will make a great addition to a home, but we recommend him as a solo kitty, because he has spent all of his life up to now as the Prince of a home. Bixby (Jimmy) came back to us when his adopters ended up hospitalized with no ability to care for him. He is used to a family that is home a lot and yet quiet and we think he will do best in a similar situation again. His favorite toys are feather wands and snuffle mats and he also jumps in the air to catch hair ties! He has a nice long body so is happy to stretch out to do the jumps for wand toys. He enjoys being petted and will lick you in thanks. And lying on window sills, and looking out windows is a fun pasttime too.We would like to show him at the foster home rather than a fair for that reason, so please contact us to meet him!!!! He will be an awesome companion cat for the right home.He is an easy keeper, happy to adjust to any food! Young bio when he was a kitten: Bixby is a very handsome buff-colored tabby. Just look at that face, he has strong personality and character, and tends to be very sure of himself, and knows what he wants. He enjoys playing as you can see in the picture with the tiered toy. He loves other playmates so of course kitty companionship is nice and he will go well with 4-legged friends, but will really bond to people as a single kitty so we are happy to let him be an only kitty.He was rescued with his siblings (Fancy and Cindy already adopted), from a yard, and he is still learning the ropes of being a pet, but he is coming along really well, and with some patience and good food bribes he'll be your BFF! We do not recommend him for little kids at this point.

To meet our rescued cats/kitten: we ask that you fill out an adoption application first. Once you submit an application, a volunteer will contact you. All of our kitties are in foster homes; some can be seen at the foster homes, or at an upcoming Adoption Fair. We ask for your understanding: We are an all-volunteer organization and many of us have full-time jobs outside of our volunteer activities; therefore, it may be a few days before someone can respond to your email. We always try to reply as soon as possible.The kitties are for adoption, not for sale. Adoption fee for kittens is $125 ($200 for two) to help cover some of our food and veterinary expenses. All cats and kittens are: vaccinated as appropriate for their age microchipped dewormed deflead tested for FELV (feline leukemia) / FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) spayed/neutered prior to adoption We will ask you some questions about your home and we will be glad to answer any questions you may have. Adopting a kitty is a long-term commitment; the average life span for a kitty is 15-20 years. Most of our cats are in foster homes with other cats. They get lonely and bored without the company of their own kind, just like people. We try to place cats that enjoy the company of other cats in a home where there is feline companionship. But we do have many cats that would be happy to be the only cat in your life! Regardless of how an animal comes to us, we provide food, shelter, and medical care. The animals do not live in cages but in volunteer foster homes. We usually know the personalities of the cats and kittens we rescue, so we can tell you which cat or kitten(s) might be the best match for you and/or the feline companion you already have. http://www.13thstcats.org/info/adoption
