In the shelter’s words
Meet Stella! Stella is a 1-year-old terrier mix with the biggest heart packed into a small body. She's ready to zoom around the yard, leap into your arms, and fill your days with love, laughter, and adventure. Stella is still learning about the world around her. Busy environments, loud noises, and unfamiliar situations can feel overwhelming, but she has been working hard with her trainer to build confidence and learn that she's safe. Stella would thrive in a quieter, more rural setting where she can enjoy running through the grass, chasing toys, and then curling up in her favorite person's lap for a well-earned nap. With continued positive reinforcement, training, patience, and love, Stella will continue to build confidence and thrive in her forever home. Stella is looking for a home where she can be the only dog. She loves being close to her people and soaking up all the attention they have to offer. Good news for cat lovers—Stella can live with cats! She is very interested in playing with them, so she would do best with a confident, dog-savvy feline companion. This sweet girl is searching for an active family ready to continue her training journey and shower her with affection. In return, Stella promises plenty of love, cuddles, and unforgettable memories.Current Weight: 38 lbsAdoption Fee: $250To Apply: fcrspca.org/adopt

Plan a visit with the source organization
We require all interested families to come in to the shelter and meet the dog or dogs that they are interested in (unless they meet a dog at an adoption event). We have a very thorough application which they can fill out and return to the shelter - we do not provide applications on line. We check vet, personal, and landlord references (we require a signed letter from the landlord and confirmation via phone call that pets are allowed). When an application is approved, we set up a meet and greet if there are other animals in the household. If not, the kids are ready to go home. We encourage all potential adopters to spend as much time with the dog(s) as possible before they head home, and an adoption contract is signed before the dog(s) go(es) home.
