In the shelter’s words
Hi there peeps! My name is Isaac. I was picked up by the local PD because someone just dumped me. How mean!! They brought me in and kept me for a little while to see if anyone would claim me. My owners never showed up. I was so sad!! That was bad news for me....they were going to send me over the rainbow bridge! I'm too young to die! Luckily, one of the officers got in contact with Lucies and the awesome people there brought me into their organization. It's so nice here! There are lots of other dogs to play with and the handlers are so sweet and patient. While I love it here, I need a family of my own. Someone to love me and care for me and play with me. I sure hope it's you!! *** We strive to ensure our dogs are going to a safe, loving and caring home. Phone interviews are required for all adoptions****

Plan a visit with the source organization
Interested adopters contact our adoption volunteer either via email or phone. Our volunteer in turn talks to them more about the pet they are interested in. If the adopter seems like a good match, they are requested to complete an application. They come to the rescue location to meet the dog of interest. We also sometimes arrange a home visit to make sure the environment is suitable for the dog. If all is well, they will get a call from a volunteer letting them know they are approved for adoption. They will be provided copies of the vaccination and sterilization records. A delivery day will be arranged for the dog. Either the adopter may come and pick up the dog, or a volunteer can arrange to have the dog delivered. They sign our adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. We do periodically contact our adopters to check up on the dog to make sure everyone is happy and healthy and enjoying their new life!
