In the shelter’s words

Scrap was found alongside his brother and sister in dangerous spots around the Portland Forge, his eyes crusted shut from dirt and grease. After warmth, cleaning, and consistent care, he’s made a full recovery and is officially old enough to find a forever home. He’s still settling in and showing us new bits of his personality every day, and we’ll keep updating his bio as he decides who he wants to be. (His sister's are Hammer and Forge.)Meet Our Fabulous Foster-to-Adopt Kittens! Our young kittens are ready to go home now through our foster‑to‑adopt program. You take them home today, and the adoption is finalized after their spay/neuter surgery. Our rescue requires kittens to be adopted in pairs or into a home that already has a young, friendly cat. Kittens raised alone often struggle with social and behavioral development, while growing up with another cat helps them learn boundaries, burn energy, and become well‑adjusted adults. The adoption fee is $75 for a single cat/kitten and $125 for a pair.If you’re ready to bring home a pair of playful kittens—or add one to your friendly resident cat—we’d love to help you find the right match.Apply today at www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adopt to start your foster‑to‑adopt journey! Just a quick note—he's currently in a foster home, not at the shelter, so he won't be available for walk-in visits. If you'd like to meet him, we'll need to schedule a meet and greet in advance. Let us know what days work best for you, and we’ll be happy to coordinate! If you are interested in adopting this pet, please go to www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adopt to complete an application. Completing a questionnaire on any other website does not submit an application to our rescue, you must complete one on our website. If you have any questions, please email us at adopt@MidwestPetRefuge.com
