In the shelter’s words

Some puppies follow the crowd. Katara was born to lead it. Born on Christmas Day under the open sky, Katara and her siblings entered the world under circumstances no puppy should have to face. Their mama had belonged to an unhoused individual who sadly passed away, leaving this little family with an uncertain future. But their devoted mama protected her babies, and Katara proved from the very beginning that she had plenty of strength and spirit of her own. Today, Katara is a confident, clever, adventure-loving Shepherd mix with a personality every bit as big as her heart. She is the self-appointed queen of her litter—and honestly, we're pretty sure her siblings got the memo. Katara approaches life with enthusiasm and curiosity. She loves toys, loves to play, and is always ready to investigate whatever might be happening around her. She's smart, engaged, and the kind of pup who will thrive with a family that enjoys keeping both her mind and body busy. Quick Facts Shepherd mix Born on Christmas Day Confident, outgoing & full of personality Smart, curious & eager to engage Loves toys, games & playtime Thrives with canine companionship Does well with littles and cats ⭐ A natural little leader who isn't afraid to take charge Looking for a family who will keep her active, engaged & loved Located in Southern California Katara would love a canine companion who can match her playful energy, appreciate her confident personality, and maybe remind her occasionally that she doesn't actually run the entire household. This Christmas baby started life with the odds stacked against her, but Katara has never seemed particularly interested in the odds. She's too busy living, playing, exploring, and showing everyone exactly who she is. Now this fearless little queen is ready for her kingdom—and, more importantly, a family to call her own. Are you ready to welcome this Christmas warrior princess into your heart and home? If so, please apply here to meet her! ❤️ We believe every dog deserves to be loved and safe.
