In the shelter’s words

Meet Calvin! He is a one-of-a-kind pup with movie-star looks and a heart of gold. With his icy blue eyes and striking coat, Calvin turns heads everywhere he goes. At 9 years old and 13 lbs, this handsome Chihuahua mix is the perfect size for both cuddling on the couch and accompanying you on outdoor adventures. If you’re in, he’s in! Calvin is a well-mannered gentleman—he walks politely on leash, is fully potty trained, crate trained, and knows basic commands. He’s smart, eager to please, and food-motivated, which makes him a quick learner and a great match for someone looking to skip the puppy chaos and jump right into the fun. While he can be cautious when meeting new people, he warms up quickly—especially if you come bearing scritches. Once he feels secure, his playful and quirky personality shines. His foster family even coined the term “Calvin Contentment Ceremony™” for his adorable floor-flopping, tail-wagging routine—it’s pure joy. Calvin’s foster family works a hybrid schedule, and he enjoys weekly visits to doggie daycare, where he’s been great with dogs of all sizes and ages. He’s social and sweet during outings and loves soaking up attention. At home, however, he’d prefer to be your one and only pup—he’s ready to give all his love to his forever person or family. Dog Rescue website and complete an adoption application: www.icaredogrescue.org/ready-to-adopt Adoption fee includes: spay/neuter • shots up to date • micro-chip • fecal and vet check Breeds and age are not guaranteed.
