MJ is a little black beauty with the sleekest black fur and the brightest yellow eyes. She’s taken a little while to warm up to us humans, but she’s making incredible progress—and she’s starting to really trust her foster mom. These days, MJ will sit near me on the couch or bed and let me pet her. She’s not quite ready for cuddles, but she’s definitely learning that human attention can be pretty great! Once she gets comfortable, she really gets into the pets and wants more and more—all while purring and giving me the sweetest little slow blinks. When she’s not relaxing nearby, you’ll find MJ running, playing, and having fun with the other cats in the house. She’s gentle, timid, and very non-dominant. She would likely do great with a friendly feline buddy to keep her company and help her feel secure. MJ will need a home that understands that trust takes time. She needs some space, patience, and the freedom to grow into her confidence and personality at her own pace. But she has already come so far, and it’s been amazing to watch her transformation. Now she just needs someone willing to take the rest of the journey with her. Are you the one who will give MJ the time, patience, and love she needs to blossom? About Me: Hi, I’m Mary Jean… but you can call me MJ! I arrived at my foster home all by myself, but I didn’t let that stop me! I made friends with all the kittens and cats here pretty much right away. They’re my kind of people. Now, the human people… well, I’m still working on that part. I’m a little shy and need some time to decide that humans are trustworthy. My foster mom is helping me learn, though. She gives me yummy treats, and I let her pet me and even rub my belly! When I’m really happy, I purr… and sometimes I get SO happy that I drool. I may be a little shy, but underneath that shy exterior is a sweet little girl who just needs someone willing to be patient with her. I’m looking for a quiet, loving, and patient home where my new family will give me the time and space, I need to blossom. I promise, once I feel safe and loved, you’ll get to see more of the real me. Adoption Process: PROCESSING YOUR APPLICATION MAY TAKE 1 TO 3 BUSINESS DAYS BEFORE WE ARE ABLE TO FORWARD IT TO THE FOSTER PROVIDER. IF WE NEED MORE INFORMATION WE WILL CONTACT YOU. PLEASE DO NOT CALL OR EMAIL TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE STATUS OF YOUR APPLICATION UNTIL AFTER 5 BUSINESS DAYS HAVE PAST SINCE SUBMISSION OF YOUR APPLICATION 1. Search adoptable animals and fill out the application when you find one you want to meet. 2. Adoption coordinator will review application and check vet/personal references. 3. Foster schedules a meet and greet. This could take place at an adoption event, public place or foster's home. 4. If foster and adopter agree its a good fit, then an adoption home visit will be scheduled for dogs only. 5. After home visit is approved, payment and adoption contract will be completed. 6. Once payment, adoption contract and age appropriate vetting are complete, the new owners can pick up their pet! All dogs/cats are fully vetted through our partner clinics and will not be adopted out prior to being spayed/neutered*, microchipped**, vaccinated & tested, as age appropriate up to the day the adoption contract is signed and payment is made. All animals are giving wormer and heartworm preventative (species and age specific) while in foster care. Adoption fees are non-negotiable. Adoption Fees are based on the animal's species, age, health and length in rescue. Their fee will be listed in their descriptions. *Puppies must be at least 8 weeks old to be spayed/neutered before adoption. Kittens must be at least 8 weeks old and at least 2 pounds to be spayed/neutered before adoption.
