In the shelter’s words
Meet Penelope and Oliver, two adorable littermates about 10 weeks old (DOB about 8/8/26). Penelope is a striking short-haired calico female, while Oliver is a handsome classic short-haired orange tabby male. These precious babies came from a place overrun with unaltered cats and kittens, where they faced a tough start to life. Both arrived in foster care with bad eye infections and very underweight, but with lots of love and care, they’ve made wonderful recoveries and have blossomed into healthy, happy little kittens! When they first arrived, little Oliver weighed just 1 pound, 3 ounces, while his petite sister Penelope tipped the scales at a whopping 13 ounces! Since then, both have been steadily gaining weight, growing stronger, and discovering just how wonderful life can be when you’re safe, loved, and cared for. Oliver is very confident with a heart as big as his personality! Penelope is more dainty but loves attention. Could you be the forever family these two little survivors have been waiting for? ❤️ They LOVE everyone as soon as they meet them. They are VERY playful and active. They love to play with toys or other cats and are never bored. They like to be held and to snuggle. They get along well with cats, and I think they'd be great with dogs and kids. They’ve been through so much together, and they would thrive in a home where they can continue playing and cuddling and bringing double the kitten joy to their lucky family. They are negative for feline leukemia and aids, had their first distemper vaccine, been wormed, had advantage for fleas, and been vet checked and spayed or neutered (Nov 11). Additional vaccines included in adoption fee. Preference will be given to local adopters willing to adopt them as a pair. If interested in these cutie pies, please contact Holly at 865-671-4564 (Land line) or hhfrey1@tds.net

Potential adopters are required to complete our application before adoption. Our adoption fee varies based on the age and breed of the cat. The fee includes testing for feline leukemia and aids, the series of distemper vaccines, the rabies vaccines, wormings, advantage so they are flea free when you take them home, a veterinary exam, and the spay or neuter. Microchipping is available for an additional $45. The adoption fee is waived for qualifying adopters interested in one of our sponsored cats. At the time of adoption, adopters must sign a contract indicating their willingness to obtain all remaining vaccinations, treatments, and spay or neuter. If a placement doesn't work out (e.g., a family member discovers he/she is allergic), the animal is returned to the Stray Connection and re-adopted.
