In the shelter’s words

Darla is the kind of girl who makes you feel pretty special when you earn a spot in her circle. Once she decides you’re one of her people, there’s no hiding her excitement—her whole body gets involved in the celebration! Darla’s beginning wasn’t the easiest. She was rescued from a wash where she was living among unhoused individuals and numerous dogs, and she arrived unsure of people and still learning that the world could be a safe place. Since then, she has absolutely blossomed. With patience, consistency, and love, the shy little girl we first met has discovered just how much fun it is to have people she can trust. And when Darla sees those people? Cue the wiggles. This girl lights up from nose to tail, greeting her friends with the happiest full-body wiggle dance. Watching her confidence grow has been such a joy, and we know there is still so much more waiting for her once she has a family of her very own. Quick Facts Sweet, affectionate girl once she feels comfortable Famous for her adorable full-body wiggles Can be shy at first and appreciates a little time to build trust Would thrive with a confident, friendly canine companion Continues to blossom with encouragement and consistency Ready for walks, adventures, and a more active lifestyle Currently carrying a few extra pounds—just a little more Darla to love! Looking for a patient, loving family who will help her continue discovering how wonderful life can be Located in Southern California Darla has already come so far, but the very best part of her story is still waiting to be written. She deserves a home where she feels safe, treasured, and completely certain that she belongs. Once Darla gives you her heart, she gives you the whole wiggly thing. If you’re ready to be the reason for that happy little wiggle dance every day, Darla is ready to meet you.
