In the shelter’s words

Apache is a male dog in need of a rescue, foster, or adopter who can provide continued medical care and support. He is exhibiting several concerning clinical signs, including lethargy/depression, lack of appetite, mucoid nasal discharge, and one reported episode of coughing up blood. These symptoms warrant further veterinary evaluation and diagnostic testing to determine the underlying cause and appropriate treatment plan.A complete physical examination and further diagnostics, including bloodwork and radiographs, could not be performed due to Apache’s behavior. Additionally, medications could not be administered orally or by injection for the same reason. Apache will require further veterinary assessment, appropriate handling or behavior management, and continued medical care to address his current condition.Apache is at risk for euthanasia due to medical concerns beyond our scope of care. If you are interested in adopting, fostering, or rescuing Apache, please email dasadopt@dallas.gov. When emailing, please include a callback number.
