In the shelter’s words
iPod is a sweet, soft-hearted girl with a quiet charm that's absolutely worth the wait. She was surrendered and came to us having missed out on consistent human interaction during her early months, which has made her understandably cautious around people. She's not the type to run up and greet you at the door — in fact, she'll probably run the other way. But don't take it personally. That's just iPod protecting her heart until she knows you are her safe space. She won't be easily picked up and tends to keep her distance until she's ready. But here's the thing — when she decides she's comfortable with you, she'll come to you completely on her own terms, and that's what makes it so special. She'll rub up against you, seek out your attention, and might even sneak onto your bed in the middle of the night when you least expect it. One minute you're falling asleep alone, the next there's a tiny set of paws tiptoeing toward you. She loves kisses and snuggles too — you just have to be quick enough to catch her. iPod does well with other cats and can tolerate calm, cat-friendly dogs. She thrives in a quieter, low-activity environment where she doesn't feel overwhelmed. If you're not looking for a lap cat who follows you everywhere and you actually appreciate a cat with a little mystery and independence, iPod might be exactly your speed. She won't smother you — but she will choose you, and when she does, it means everything. If you'd like to meet this cat or think this cat would be a good match for your family, please complete our adoption questionnaire at http://www.trentoncats.org/adoption-questionnaire/ and let your references know someone will be contacting them soon. All our cats are neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed and flea-treated, tested for FIV/FeLV, and microchipped prior to adoption. Thanks for opting to adopt!

Plan a visit with the source organization
1. Ensure that you understand and are willing and capable of taking on the responsibility of a new pet. 2. Fill out the adoption form (found on website). This can be done online or downloaded and printed out. 3. Contact Trenton Cats Rescue so we can have a brief conversation with you to determine your needs and preferences, find out about your daily schedule, and talk about your previous experience with pets. 4. For renters, check with your landlord to ensure that cats are permitted and that you would not be violating any pet restrictions. 5. We can help determine which cat best fits with your lifestyle or you can visit with one or more that most interest you. 6. We will do one or more follow up calls after the adoption to check how things are going and address any concerns you may have. Adoption fees generally range from $100.00 to $125.00 and vary mostly by the cats age. We also have events that sometimes offer lowered adoption costs. It's a good idea to keep checking back on our website and to "friend" us on Facebook to keep up to date on our events.
