In the shelter’s words

Are you looking for the perfect Halloween-themed addition to your family?! Squirrel (named after the Richmond Squirrels baseball team) is a beautiful black kitten who unbelievably is still looking for his forever home! He has become the most loving kitten who might not be crazy about being picked up (we're still working on it), but who loves to sit on your lap for cuddles! He's wonderful with other cats and his foster dog brother - a big old black lab who can be, let's say, persistent (read: obnoxious), but Squirrel shows endless patience and sweetness with him. Squirrel is the perfect mix of kitten personalities - playful and curious, but also incredibly loving and snuggly. Squirrel and his brother Kicker were found in a crawlspace at just 5 weeks old without a mama. Usually after a scary start to life like that, it takes kittens some time to trust people and settle into their foster home. Not these guys! They were purring and giving kisses on day 1.Squirrel loves to climb, chase feather toys and balls, and wrestle with the other cats. He loves to curl up behind you, in a little nook against you, or sprawled on your lap to rest, and will climb up your chest to give you kisses on the nose. But as soon as play mode is activated he will play attack your arm, all while purring up a storm. Squirrel has a beautiful black coat with some very subtle stripes that seem to be coming out more with age and a tiny white patch on his chest. He has a kink in his tail from an early injury, but it doesn't bother him or hold him back at all! He has been microchipped, started on his distemper vaccines, tested negative for FIV/FELV, neutered, and ready to find his forever home!
