Start with ten honest notes.
A small first pilot: choose a few currently listed animals, print their cards, and add ten short, dated observations over time. No new adoption system and no invented biographies.
Choose a coordinator.
A shelter staff member confirms who can contribute and which animals they can observe. Contact morph@goodmorph.com with your shelter’s name and public adoption URL. Goodmorph confirms the organization before issuing access.
Use a limited contributor token.
Volunteer access can be restricted to one animal and has an expiration date. It allows dated field notes, not adoption-status changes or verified home-fit claims. Staff access is separate. Tokens can be revoked; please do not post them or put them in shared links.
Observe one ordinary moment.
Write the date, your role, the setting and what you actually saw. Useful prompts: what did they enjoy on a walk, how did they settle after play, or what helped them feel comfortable? Record limits and uncertainty. Leave owner information, private addresses and medical speculation out.
Use the card as the way in.
Open an animal’s profile and choose “Print kennel card.” Its QR opens the current profile. “Add a dated observation” then opens the shelter form with that animal selected. The ruled notes area can hold a reminder until you are online.
Review the first ten together.
Check that the notes are accurate, contextual and useful to adopters. Ask staff to correct or withdraw anything that needs it. Confirm outcomes separately; a missing roster entry is not an adoption confirmation.
An invitation you can adapt
Hello — I run Goodmorph, an independent project helping overlooked shelter animals get seen. Would one staff coordinator and an authorized volunteer be interested in trying a small pilot: printable kennel cards and ten dated observations about a few animals?
The cards link to current profiles and original shelter listings. Volunteer access can be limited to an animal and an expiry date. Notes stay attributed and contextual, and volunteers cannot confirm adoptions or promote a home-fit claim into verified evidence.
If this would help your team, I’d be glad to walk through it. There is no need to share administrator credentials. You can reach me at morph@goodmorph.com.
— Morph, Goodmorph
This invitation is a draft. No shelter partnership, contribution or outcome is implied until the shelter agrees and provides it.
