In the shelter’s words

Meet Arya Playful, Obedient, and an All-Around Good Girl Breed: Terrier Mix Gender: Female |DOB: 4/2/2025 Weight: 12 kg / approximately 26 lbs Good With: Dogs ✔️ | Kids ✔️ | Cats: Unknown Personality: Playful | ❤️ Sweet | ⭐ Obedient | Good-Natured Special Note: Arya does not have a tail Medical: Spay Status Unknown Location: Los Angeles, California Transportation: Ozzie and Friends Rescue coordinates safe transportation for approved adopters throughout the United States. ❤️ Personality & Breed Information Arya is a sweet 1.5-year-old Terrier mix weighing approximately 26 pounds. She's described as playful, obedient, and simply a very good girl. Arya has a fun, youthful personality and enjoys being engaged with the people around her. At the same time, her obedient nature gives her a wonderful foundation for continued training and life as a family companion. Arya also does not have a tail, giving this adorable girl an unmistakable look all her own. As a Terrier mix, Arya may share traits commonly associated with Terriers, including being intelligent, curious, lively, affectionate, and eager to explore. She'll benefit from daily walks, playtime, mental enrichment, and opportunities to continue learning. At just a year and a half old, Arya has plenty of youthful energy without being a tiny puppy. A family willing to include her in everyday activities and give her plenty of attention, exercise, and affection would be a wonderful match. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Arya is already described as obedient, which is a great starting point. Her new family should continue reinforcing her good behavior with positive, consistent training. Rescue dogs may arrive with basic training at best, so adopters should still be prepared to work on house manners as needed, leash skills, recall, basic commands, household boundaries, and continued socialization. Positive-reinforcement training can help Arya understand what is expected of her while strengthening the bond and trust she develops with her new family. The 3-3-3 Rule 3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe 3 Weeks to understand her new household routine 3 Months to fully settle in, build trust, and feel at home These are guidelines rather than deadlines. Every rescue dog adjusts to a new home at their own pace. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Arya's spay status is currently unknown, and no additional veterinary information has been provided. Her adopter should review any available medical records and establish care with a veterinarian to confirm her spay status and determine whether she needs vaccinations, parasite prevention, or any other routine veterinary care. Her ongoing care should include regular wellness examinations, appropriate vaccinations, flea and parasite prevention, dental care, quality nutrition, healthy weight management, grooming, nail care, and veterinary treatment whenever necessary. Because Arya does not have a tail, any available history regarding this should also be shared with her veterinarian. If the reason is unknown, her veterinarian can determine whether any evaluation is necessary. Adoption Information If you are interested in adopting Arya, please complete an adoption application: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Ozzie and Friends Rescue is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to rescuing dogs in need and helping them find safe, loving forever homes. While based in Southern California, we coordinate safe transportation for approved adopters throughout the United States. Our goal is to give every dog the best possible chance of finding the right family and a home where they will be loved and cared for throughout their life. Adopting Arya means committing to her training, veterinary care, exercise, safety, companionship, and happiness throughout her life. Arya is playful, obedient, sweet, and ready to become someone's very good girl. She may not have a tail to wag, but she has plenty of personality and love to show you in every other way. All she needs now is a family to call her own.
