In the shelter’s words
This is a courtesy post. Please do not contact Heart of the Foothills for information. Contact information is provided below. This sweet pup was found March 2nd with his sister, abandoned along with their deceased parents on the side of the road and left to die. We foster dogs and cats and had room for these poor souls to eat, get fixed, and get through those cold weeks while learning some basic training like "no", "down", and "fetch". The female has been adopted. The male is interacting with small dogs and several cats currently and is getting along great with our permanent residents. He is approximately 4 months, 20 -30 lbs, and appears to be a pitweiler. We have not named him as we find it is best to wait for the permanent owners to take on that bonding process. Please if you are interested reach out to me by texting or calling 828-305-2632. Please leave your name in your message.

Plan a visit with the source organization
An application is required and once it is processed and approved we will set up a time for the adopter to meet the pet, if the pet is finished with their vetting then we can finalize adoption or put the pet on hold and let the adopter know when the pet is ready. When we finalize adoption, the adopter will need to sign an adoption contract and a health disclaimer. We do ask that if the adopter decides that it is not working out that they bring the dog back to us so we can make sure the animal will go into a good home.
Confirm availability, fees and the meeting address before traveling.
