In the shelter’s words

Highway – the One‑Eyed FirecrackerHighway earned her name the hard way. She was spotted scrunched up in the middle of Highway 1 as cars flew past within a foot of her tiny body. She was the lone survivor, and she fought for that title with everything she had.Today, Highway is a feisty little thing with a whole lot of attitude packed into her small frame. Having only one eye that sees clearly doesn’t slow her down one bit — if anything, it just adds to her mischievous charm. She’s spicy, bold, and always on the move, the kind of kitten who believes every room is a racetrack and every human is a potential playmate.Highway is a survivor, an adventurer, and a tiny tornado of personality. She’s looking for a home that appreciates her spark, her silliness, and her unstoppable spirit.Adoption fee: $75 Apply today at www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adopt Adoption includes: spay/neuter, microchip, FVRCP vaccine(s), rabies vaccine, flea prevention, and deworming medication.Just a quick note—she's currently in a foster home, not at the shelter, so she won't be available for walk-in visits. If you'd like to meet her, we'll need to schedule a meet and greet in advance. Let us know what days work best for you, and we’ll be happy to coordinate! If you are interested in adopting this pet, please go to www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adopt to complete an application.
