In the shelter’s words
Hi!! My name is Yeshua. It means salvation. I was saved for sure! My 2 brothers and I were found dumped and left to fend for ourselves. I can't begin to tell you how awful it was! We were scared, hungry, thirsty and HOT!!! All I can say is we were never so glad to see somebody stop and rescue us. Angels I tell you!!! So here we are at Lucies and getting all taken care of. Did you know that they have swimming pools for us??? It's like being at a doggie spa!!! ;) Well maybe not quite that fancy, but we are well taken care of by the teens that work here and the adult volunteers. :) We are learning lots of fun things like walking with a leash and staying in a crate. We got the crate thing down now! I di have a minor injury to my eye, but it is all healed up now and I don't have to wear that awful cone anymore! We sure would like a furever home. Won't you please inquire about me our one of my brothers? I promise you won't regret it!! *** We strive to ensure our dogs are going to a safe, loving and caring home. Phone interviews are required for all adoptions****

Plan a visit with the source organization
Interested adopters contact our adoption volunteer either via email or phone. Our volunteer in turn talks to them more about the pet they are interested in. If the adopter seems like a good match, they are requested to complete an application. They come to the rescue location to meet the dog of interest. We also sometimes arrange a home visit to make sure the environment is suitable for the dog. If all is well, they will get a call from a volunteer letting them know they are approved for adoption. They will be provided copies of the vaccination and sterilization records. A delivery day will be arranged for the dog. Either the adopter may come and pick up the dog, or a volunteer can arrange to have the dog delivered. They sign our adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. We do periodically contact our adopters to check up on the dog to make sure everyone is happy and healthy and enjoying their new life!
