In the shelter’s words
Oscar is a sweet, shy kitten who just needs a little time, patience, and love to let his personality shine. â¤ï¸ He may be timid when meeting new people, but with a calm environment and a gentle approach, he can begin to feel safe and build trust at his own pace. Personality: Shy, gentle, and a little cautious. Ideal home: A quiet, loving home where he can settle in without feeling rushed. What he needs: Patience, kindness, cozy hiding spots, and positive encouragement. Perfect match: Someone who understands that the best friendships sometimes take a little time to grow. Oscar's adoption wish: A safe place to call home, a caring person to trust, and the chance to blossom into the confident kitten he's meant to be. Give Oscar a little time, and you may just become his favorite person. Will you be the one to give this shy boy his happily ever after?

Plan a visit with the source organization
1. Visit the SPCA at 1002 Monterey-Salinas Highway across from Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. 2. Visit with the pet you are interested in adopting to see if his personality fits your lifestyle. If you are adopting a dog, you can meet him in one of our new dog condo rooms or play in one of our play yards. 3. Complete family introductions (every member of the family living in the house with the animal must meet and visit with the animal prior to adoption to ensure a happy fit for everyone). 4. If you are adopting a new dog and already have one at home, our animal care staff will assist you with introducing your current dog to the dog you are hoping to adopt to ensure a good match. 5. The SPCA adoption process takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. All paperwork, vaccination records, and microchip information will be provided at this time. Adoption fees range from $20 to $290. 6. Take your new lifelong family member home!
