Meet Ramsey – The Bossy but Bashful Chiweenie MixRamsey is a 5-year-old Chiweenie/Terrier mix with a big personality wrapped up in a little body. Rescued from a hoarding situation in Bakersfield, he’s learned to be the boss around other dogs, but when it comes to people, he’s a shy and cautious guy. While he may take time to trust, the key to winning him over is simple—treats. Good ones. With the right snack, you’ll have his attention in no time.True to his stubborn yet endearing nature, Ramsey always likes to have the last word. Whether it’s a little grumble of protest or a tiny bark of opinion, he’s never shy about making his thoughts known. He sometimes needs a bit of encouragement (or a gentle pick-up) to get out the door, but once outside, he enjoys basking in the sun. Fast, loud cars can startle him, but he looks to his person for reassurance, proving that deep down, he wants to trust and feel safe.Ramsey would thrive in a quiet, adult-only home where his quirks are appreciated and his confidence can continue to grow. If you’re looking for a pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart (once he lets you in), Ramsey just might be your perfect match.

Adoptions start at $600 but can be more depending on breed, age and the dogs needs. We read all applications and we will contact people for phone interviews within 24-48 hours. While we read all applications, not everyone will be selected for a phone interview. Once we do your phone interview, if you are approved, we will send you an invoice for the adoption fee. You will receive three documents through Docusign to finalize your adoption. You will receive an approximate pick up date and time. This is based on a normal 2 week hold. Pick up your puppy!
