While she might take a moment to hide when you first meet her, don't let her shyness fool you—underneath her quiet exterior is a deeply sweet, affectionate soul waiting for the right person to earn her trust. Misty is low-maintenance, polite, and very peaceful. She takes a little extra time to adjust to new environments, but watching her blossom into a brave, loving companion is the most rewarding experience. She is never aggressive—when she feels overwhelmed, she simply retreats to a safe, cozy spot to observe until she feels ready. A quiet, low-traffic home (or apartment) without loud noises or unpredictable commotion. Patient adopters who understand that trust takes time and are excited to celebrate her small daily victories. She would do wonderfully as a solo kitty receiving all your calm love, or in a home with another very calm, non-dominant cat who can show her the ropes. Her current foster home has grade-school age kids and multiple cats and Misty does well here too. About Me: I might look a little quiet at first, and I might hide behind the curtain when we first meet. The big world can feel a bit overwhelming to a gentle girl like me! But if you give me a little time and a lot of patience, I promise to show you just how sweet I truly am. I’m not a wild zoomie-cat or a loud talker. Instead, I’m a quiet observer who prefers soft blankets, sunny windows, and gentle moments. Once I know I’m safe with you, my brave side comes out—I’ll walk over, give you a tiny head-butt, and turn on my soft, happy purr while you scratch behind my ears. I love having a plush bed or a quiet corner where I can recharge my courage. I’d love to be your one-and-only princess, or live with another super calm, friendly cat who can show me the ropes.

Adoption Process: PROCESSING YOUR APPLICATION MAY TAKE 1 TO 3 BUSINESS DAYS BEFORE WE ARE ABLE TO FORWARD IT TO THE FOSTER PROVIDER. IF WE NEED MORE INFORMATION WE WILL CONTACT YOU. PLEASE DO NOT CALL OR EMAIL TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE STATUS OF YOUR APPLICATION UNTIL AFTER 5 BUSINESS DAYS HAVE PAST SINCE SUBMISSION OF YOUR APPLICATION 1. Search adoptable animals and fill out the application when you find one you want to meet. 2. Adoption coordinator will review application and check vet/personal references. 3. Foster schedules a meet and greet. This could take place at an adoption event, public place or foster's home. 4. If foster and adopter agree its a good fit, then an adoption home visit will be scheduled for dogs only. 5. After home visit is approved, payment and adoption contract will be completed. 6. Once payment, adoption contract and age appropriate vetting are complete, the new owners can pick up their pet! All dogs/cats are fully vetted through our partner clinics and will not be adopted out prior to being spayed/neutered*, microchipped**, vaccinated & tested, as age appropriate up to the day the adoption contract is signed and payment is made. All animals are giving wormer and heartworm preventative (species and age specific) while in foster care. Adoption fees are non-negotiable. Adoption Fees are based on the animal's species, age, health and length in rescue. Their fee will be listed in their descriptions. *Puppies must be at least 8 weeks old to be spayed/neutered before adoption. Kittens must be at least 8 weeks old and at least 2 pounds to be spayed/neutered before adoption.
