In the shelter’s words
❄️ Warning: Side effects of adopting Sleet may include constant companionship, unsolicited kisses, and never being alone in the bathroom again. ❄️Meet Sleet! Sleet is a 6-year-old white and tabby boy who arrived with his group of thirteen siblings. When he first came in, he was shy, shut down, and unsure of everything around him. But once he moved into our adoption room, Sleet transformed almost overnight. The quiet, hesitant cat became the guy who rushes right up to you, demands love, and insists on kisses the moment he realizes you have hands. Sleet is the definition of a glow-up. He went from hiding in corners to being the cat who follows you around, leans into every pet, and makes sure you know he's ready for affection. He's social, sweet, and absolutely devoted once he feels comfortable. If you're looking for a cat who wants to be part of everything you do, Sleet is your guy. Sleet thrives on feline companionship and must go to a home with another cat. Having grown up surrounded by his siblings and living comfortably with other cats, he finds confidence, comfort, and happiness in having a feline friend by his side. He is good with kids and cats, and he has not had any negative reactions to dogs. His friendly, affectionate personality makes him a great fit for many types of homes, especially one that appreciates a cat who loves hard, loves often, and already has a kitty companion waiting to welcome him home. Sleet is ready to bring joy, companionship, and endless affection to his forever family. Sleet's adoption fee is $50, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: https://www.acskc.org/adopt-1Once your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet! We welcome adopters from out of state to apply! _When it comes to our pets, we're all-inclusive! Plan a visit with the source organization
Once you’re ready to adopt, head over to our Adoption Application to fill out and submit the form. Once our Adoption Team has reviewed and approved your application, we will give you a call to schedule an appointment with the pet! When you arrive at ACSKC, you will be greeted by our Adoption Coordinator and taken to meet the pet, either in our Meet and Greet Room or one of the play yards. If you already have pets in the home, you may be asked to bring them with you for a meet and greet to ensure they will get along in the home (this typically only applies to dogs). If you and our Adoption Coordinator feel like it is a good match, we will then finalize the paperwork and send you home with a bag of goodies, including our “Welcoming Your New Pet Home Guide,” toys, treats and a sample bag of their pet food. If it is not a good match, you are welcome to meet the other available pets in the shelter. Your approved application will be kept on file for 90 days, so you’re encouraged to take your time before making a decision!
