Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster About Roper: Meet Roper, a 1-year-old Jack Russell Terrier/Beagle mix with a gentle heart and a sweet personality. Shelter staff describe him as a little shy at first, but once he starts to feel comfortable, his affectionate side begins to shine. Roper is still a young pup with plenty of life ahead of him, and he’s ready to find a patient, loving family who can help build his confidence and show him just how fun the world can be. With time, encouragement, and plenty of love, Roper could make a wonderful companion for walks, outings, and new adventures. If you’re looking for a sweet, sensitive pup who’s ready to blossom with the right family, Roper may be the one for you. What My Foster Says About Me: Roper has been doing great! He is getting better on the leash everyday, and his playful personality started to shine through late last week. He seems very happy and healthy- eating, drinking, and using the bathroom as expected. Roper hasn't had any accidents in the house and we’ve started working on a few commands such as “Down”, “come”, “fetch”, and “heel.” He loves walks and toys that allow him to play. Roper is a perfect companion dog! He loves playing with people and dogs, and is great with kids. He is very fond of learning new tricks and evening cuddles.
