In the shelter’s words
Hi my name is Cali! I’m scruffy, silly and full of fun loving energy. I’m a busy girl but I’m professionally trained and come with my training and tools! My favorite things include balls, the jet setting on the garden hose, and playing. I could play with a dog friend literally all day. Given that I’m high energy, if I don’t have a dog playmate, I’d need a human who’s up for lots of activity! Running partner? Yes please! I LOVE kids and other people, but I think cats are toys and not friends - oopsy! Cali is with a trainer in Lucasville. Apply for her on our website and we will get you in touch with her trainer!

Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
