In the shelter’s words

Bellatrix 7.29.21 Facts About Me Breed: Domestic shorthair Color: Brown and Black Age: 4 years Sex: Female My Info: Spayed Shots Up to Date Good With Male Cats House-trained Not good with dogs Not good with young children My Story: This talkative beauty is Bellatix. Bellatrix was an incredibly young mom, who has raised her kittens well, and is now looking for a nice, quiet home, with a good bird viewing window to spend her days. Bellatrix loves to play! She didn't really get to enjoy being a kitten, and she is making up for it now! Tunnels, lasers, kicker toys, and things with feathers are all her favorite things. When the house is quiet, and the mood strikes her, she is often found by her foster mom having the time of her life playing with a toy. Bellatrix likes cats more than she likes people (which is fair). Anyone looking to adopt Bellatrix needs to be very patient and willing to go at her speed. These days, she is still aloof at times, especially when company comes over, but she does come asking to be petted, often rubbing against legs during morning coffee, and will flop over on her back to get chest and neck scratches. Her favorite spots to spend time with people are on the couch and snuggled up in bed at night. Bellatrix does okay with older children, but loud noises and kids running through the house do send her hiding. She would be best suited for a quieter home. Speaking of safe places to get away, she loves to sit high on top of her cat tree and take naps when she isn't lounging in the catio watching birds. If you're a patient soul, looking to nurture and love a cat who didn't have the greatest start in life, that would like a companion to keep the house from being quiet, Bellatrix might be the cat for you. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. All animals will be spayed or neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV or heartworm, given age-appropriate boosters and rabies, dewormed, flea treated, and anything extra that is needed to give this animal a wonderful forever life in a permanent home. Adoption fees are usually $50 for cats and between $150-$250 for dogs, unless the pet is sponsored or we are running a promotion. Please visit our website at sheltertohome.com for information on our adoption process.**
