MEET MARKIE — 8 POUNDS OF PURE, PRANCING CHARM! 5 years old. 8 pounds. One tiny white pony with a big personality. Have you ever dreamed about the perfect white pony—but without the feed bill and at a fraction of the size? If so, Markie hits the mark! Although he can’t pull a carriage, he can certainly pull off Mr. Charming. This little Maltipoo is proof that you don’t need to be big to make a grand entrance! A LITTLE ABOUT MARKIE: A real-life My Little Pony! Markie lives to rear up and do a little dance. Naturally, we sing the My Little Pony theme song while he shows off his signature moves! Playtime enthusiast! He loves to wrestle, play, and keep everyone entertained with his silly, spirited personality. Leisurely flower sniffer! Markie enjoys taking his time on walks, sniffing the flowers, exploring his surroundings, and appreciating the finer things in life. A working little man! Markie enjoys having a job and takes his responsibilities seriously—especially when it comes to reminding everyone that he is still a dog when it comes to his territory. No one comes around unnoticed! Markie considers himself head of security. Nothing happens on his watch, and no visitor arrives without being properly announced. Social butterfly! Markie enjoys walks and playing with other dogs. His new family will need to understand that his adorable size does not mean he should be allowed to make all the decisions. Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
