In the shelter’s words
Meet Amy! Amy had a rough start in life—she was born on November 30, 2024, on the streets of San Antonio, alongside her eight siblings. Her feral mother had been surviving on her own for quite some time, raising multiple litters on the streets. Thankfully, with the help of Amy and her siblings, we were able to gain her mother’s trust and bring them all to safety. Now, Amy is thriving! She is a playful, sweet, and loving puppy who adores people. She may be a little shy at first, but give her a few minutes, and she’ll be bouncing around, ready to play! As of February 26, 2025, she weighs 11.6 pounds, but she’s expected to grow to around 45 pounds. Amy is ready to find her forever home! Her adoption fee is $250, and she is available through A Doggie 4 You. If you're interested in adopting this special girl, apply today at www.adoggie4you.org. Could Amy be the missing piece of your family? This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $250. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations.

Adoption application is required. Applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. A picture of your home or yard may be requested All dogs and puppies are fully vetted prior to adoption (spay/neuter, rabies, 3 DHPP, bordetella and heartworm test/treat if positive) and are micro-chipped. Our fees start at $200, transport out of Texas is arranged by us and is generally an additional $200. We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet. Our contract requires if an adoption does not work out the dog is to be returned to us. We need at least two weeks notice.
