Hello! I'm Rusty, a sweet and friendly rat with three brothers who are my best buddies. I have light brown fur which is how I got my name! We're older rats, so every day with us is precious. Bubbles, Badger, Cookie, and I have a special bond, and we're looking for a home that has room in its heart for all four of us. We must be adopted together, because life is better with my brothers by my side! The SPCA strongly encourages Adoption Holds to ensure we will be waiting to meet you when you arrive. To make an Adoption Hold, please call 831-373-2631. The Adoption Center is open to meet me without an Adoption Hold, however you may need to wait for an adoption time to become available and I may already be adopted.

1. Visit the SPCA at 1002 Monterey-Salinas Highway across from Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. 2. Visit with the pet you are interested in adopting to see if his personality fits your lifestyle. If you are adopting a dog, you can meet him in one of our new dog condo rooms or play in one of our play yards. 3. Complete family introductions (every member of the family living in the house with the animal must meet and visit with the animal prior to adoption to ensure a happy fit for everyone). 4. If you are adopting a new dog and already have one at home, our animal care staff will assist you with introducing your current dog to the dog you are hoping to adopt to ensure a good match. 5. The SPCA adoption process takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. All paperwork, vaccination records, and microchip information will be provided at this time. Adoption fees range from $20 to $290. 6. Take your new lifelong family member home!
