In the shelter’s words
Diamond has been part of Revelation Gardens for almost her entire life. She was only about five weeks old when she and her mama, Queenie, were rescued from behind our shop on Main Street, where they had been living outdoors. Both tested positive for FIV, and Queenie was also positive for feline leukemia (FeLV). Diamond has been tested for FeLV and is negative. Diamond grew up here alongside her mama until Queenie passed away last year. Today, Diamond is a confident, sweet and playful girl who happens to be partially blind. She appreciates being given a moment to realize someone is approaching, but once she knows you’re there, she’s happy to receive affection—and may even settle into your lap. She’s also an accomplished napper who particularly enjoys finding a perch above everyone else and surveying her kingdom. When Diamond was a tiny kitten, she sometimes explored the yard with me under close supervision. I made up a little song for her, as I tend to do with our animals: Baby, baby Diamond, we love you. Baby, baby Diamond, yes we do. I’d sing it when it was time for her to come back to me—and she would come running. All these years later, I still sing Diamond her song. And she still comes to me. Diamond is FIV-positive and FeLV-negative. Her FIV status doesn’t define this happy, affectionate girl. She has grown up knowing safety and love at Revelation Gardens. Now we’d love to find the person who will sing her next song. Could Diamond be your girl? Come spend some time with her and see if she comes to you, too.

Once you’ve found a rescue you’d like to welcome into your family, the first step is completing our adoption application. Our adoption process is designed to help create lasting matches. We’ll talk with you about the animal you’ve chosen and make sure their personality, needs, and energy level are a good fit for your home and lifestyle. We’ll also verify references and, in some circumstances—particularly with dog adoptions—may conduct a home visit. We aren’t looking for a perfect home. We’re looking for the right fit for both you and the animal. Our adoption fee is $125 and includes spay/neuter, current rabies vaccination, and flea/tick prevention (the fee for bonded pairs is $150 for both). Once your application is approved, we’ll schedule a time to complete the adoption paperwork and welcome your new family member home.
