In the shelter’s words
Micah – Ready for Her Second Chance Hi, I’m Micah! Not long ago, I was sitting in a DC shelter with only two days left before I was scheduled to be euthanized. Thankfully, Fancy Cats & Dogs Rescue Team stepped in and gave me the second chance I desperately needed. Now I’m settling into my foster home and learning what it feels like to be safe and loved. ❤️ I’m a young, energetic girl with plenty of puppy spirit! I love to run, play, explore, and chew on my toys. I can still get a little mouthy when I’m excited, but I mean absolutely no harm. I’m just learning my puppy manners. New people can make me nervous at first, and when I’m unsure, I may become a little defensive. Please give me some time and patience to realize you’re my friend. Once I feel comfortable, you’ll get to see more of the fun girl underneath. I do great with other dogs after a proper introduction and a little time to get comfortable. I’m also curious about cats and haven’t shown aggression toward them. I’m already a champ in my crate, and my foster family has taught me to sit, although sometimes I like to pretend I’ve never heard that word before. I’m doing really well with house training too. I’m not 100% there yet, but accidents inside are rare. A fenced yard would be wonderful for me because I absolutely love running around and burning off all that young-dog energy. I’ve already come so far, but I’m still learning. My perfect family will understand that I need patience, consistency, plenty of toys to chew, and continued training as I grow. I came within two days of never getting this chance. Now all I need is someone who will make my second chance last forever. Could that be you? ❤️ Adoption fee includes: first 2 DAPP, bordetella, deworming, flea preventative, sterilized, heartworm test, microchip Adoption fee: $525.00

Our adopters fill out an application that screens for problems that may be detrimental to our cats and kittens. Once the adopter is approved we provide veterinary referrals which help with low cost spays or neuters for the kittens that are too young at the time of adoption. We are always available to help with behavioral issues that arise. We provide numerous information sheets in our adoption folders, plus the medical background of each cat. The only fees involved with our program are adoption fees that offset our veterinary bills.
