About MeMinxy and Mochi are a brother and sister bonded pair seeking a purrrsonal assistant. This role is dynamic, requiring the human to have warm hands for head scritches and the ability to rapidly open cans of food. They both love to try new snacks (will steal your food) and meet new people (will steal your spouse, all your friends, and even your parasocial internet relationships). Mochi announces her entry into every room. In your role as purrrsonal assistant, you will say “So sayeth the Queen!” She is a chatterbox. Minxy is the Queen’s brother. He is NOT the king, he is NOT the prince, he is NOT in charge. He’s a quiet guy who likes snuggles and head boops.Both are very confident and adaptive. They do many of the typical Sphynx cat behaviors like ask for blanket forts, play in water, and fully take over all human personal space. Bonus Sphynx shenanigans: Minxy knows how to turn on sinks, Mochi knows how to use the human toilet. Ideal home: Breed experience strongly preferred. Minxy has “elf” style ears that require additional cleaning.Ideal home can enforce health and safety rules around human food vs cat food. They are both unabashed human food snatchers with raccoon energy. Balance the higher metabolic needs of the breed with their unhinged bacchanalian palates. They are complete menaces in the kitchen. They have lived with dogs. Fostered with other cats. They get along with everyone they meet. They like children. They are totally comfortable with a busy household with a lot of people coming in and out. Mochi believes every visitor has come to bow before Her Majesty. Minxy hopes every newcomer is DoorDash. Adoption applications must be completed, which include information regarding references and vet clinic information, DL #, names, etc. Reference checks are conducted and when necessary vetting information verified. Discussion about the animal interested in to best assure appropriate and proper placement is made, and educational information regarding how to manage a multi-dog/animal household, slow and proper introductions and the importance of a shut-down period to help the animal acclimate to new surroundings. A "meet and greet" with the animal is required and whenever possible all residents of the household should be present. Home checks may, but not always, be necessary. After adoption applications is approved a contract is required, where we also stipulate that if for any reason the adopter determines they no longer want or can care for the animal we require it be returned to us, with the exception of documented bite history or potentially dangerous or dangerous dog designations. Adoption fees vary, but are comparable to or less than other local rescues and typically are $300 or less for a canine and $150 for a feline.
