In the shelter’s words
Hi, my name is BottleCap! Like the candy, I'm sweet and a little tangy! I am about 1 year old and I am a lean, 50-ish pounds. I think I'm a perfect lap dog size. I'm not too big, not too small. I'm JUUSSST RIGHT! I am a handsome Labrador Retriever mix. I LOVE to give kisses and I'm a great cuddler! I am really smart and a good boy! I still have lots of puppy energy and get the zoomies. I love to play fetch! I like ALL the toys and can be a bit of a toy hoarder! I love people and other dogs. I sleep in my crate all night and I will hang out in there for quiet time and chew a bone or Kong toy. I go to the door when I need to potty. I'm good on a leash and I know "sit" and "down"! I WILL work for treats! Ready for a sweet treat? Apply to adopt me today!

Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
