In the shelter’s words

RUBEN – Terrier Mix, Born 7/30/2024 & 35 lbs | Healthy, Vaccinated & Neutered Meet Ruben, the handsome, bright-eyed boy who’s equal parts sunshine and snuggles! With his expressive ears and a smile that can melt any heart, Ruben brings warmth and joy wherever he goes. He’s playful, social, and absolutely adores being around people. Whether he’s trotting proudly on a walk, chasing his favorite toy, or curling up beside you for a nap, Ruben’s happiness shines through. This boy loves to explore the world but also loves a good cuddle just as much — the perfect mix of energy and affection. Owner Responsibilities: Ruben will thrive with an owner who values routine, kindness, and active companionship. He’ll need regular walks, mental stimulation, and time to bond with his people. Continue positive training, provide a balanced diet, and give him the love and patience he deserves — and you’ll have a best friend for life. Things to Consider Before Adopting: Before bringing Ruben home, take a moment to reflect on what it truly means to adopt: Do you have time for daily walks, play, and attention? Are your living arrangements stable, and is your landlord pet-friendly? Are you ready for the financial responsibility of food, vet care, and grooming? Do you have a secure yard or plan to provide structured exercise? Are you ready to commit for his lifetime — through moves, life changes, and all the love-filled years ahead? A dog isn’t just a pet — he’s family. Make sure you’re ready for forever. Vet Care: Ruben is healthy, vaccinated, and neutered. Even though he’s in great shape, it’s important to take him to your trusted vet soon after adoption to establish ongoing care and keep him thriving for years to come. The 3-3-3 Rule & Commitment for Life: The first 3 days are for decompressing — everything is new, so give him space, comfort, and reassurance. The first 3 weeks are when he’ll start learning your home, your routine, and your heart. The first 3 months are when trust blossoms, and he’ll know he’s truly home. Remember: adoption is a lifetime promise. Be patient, love deeply, and you’ll watch him bloom into his best self. Why Ruben Would Be a Great Addition: Ruben has a heart as golden as his sleek coat. He’s that once-in-a-lifetime companion — loyal, funny, affectionate, and endlessly grateful. He’ll fill your home with joy, laughter, and the kind of love that only a rescue dog can give. Every wag of his tail says, “thank you for believing in me.” If you’re ready to be his forever person, Ruben is ready to fill your life with love. ❤️ If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please follow the link https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions and fill out an application Thank you for choosing Ozzie and Friends Rescue.
