In the shelter’s words
"I wonder why we can't just love and be freeLet everyone be all that they wanna be" Dolly Parton & Mavis Staples Howdy, I'm Mavis! A few weeks ago I was a young senior girl struggling in a shelter and losing hope. Thankfully, I was rescued and flown to safety! When my foster family met me they could already see the beautiful, loving and grateful husky that I really am. Once in a real home, I decompressed quickly and chose to jump right into family life! I like loving on the children here, going belly up for chest scratches, and having playtime with the other dogs here. My current favorites are: Butt Scratches (I lean in and ask for more when you stop) Snuggling and reading with kids (an 8 and 10 year old) Existing in the same space as other dogs. I seem to love to be in the same space as my pack and will follow them if they change rooms or move from the couch to the floor I have done AMAZING in the car, I walk really well on a leash, and I'm close to getting my potty training up to 100%. I play really well with other dogs. While at the shelter I met cats and small dogs and was respectful. I would love to have my very own couch, people, and fursibling(s)! I will breathe the biggest sigh of relief! Could your home be the one for me? Fill out an application and mention Mavis!

Our Adoption Process After you submit your adoption application, via our website, http://TaysiaBlue.com, a Taysia Blue volunteer will contact you within 2-3 days. We are most interested in which type dog will be a good fit for you and your family and the other pets in your home. We will also contact you by phone to learn more about the dog you're looking for and to review the current available dogs in our rescue. We will schedule an appointment for you to meet the dog(s). If a match is made, we can complete the adoption process at that time. If we don't find the perfect match, we'll keep trying till we do! We hope that your home is the very last stop on the dog's journey and we do all we can to help you and your dog make the transition easier, including providing you with an information packet loaded with tips and resources. Our quality standard vet care is as follows: • Spay/Neuter - All dogs will be spayed or neutered prior to being adopted. • Heartworm Test - If the heartworm test is negative, the dog is placed on regular heartworm preventative. If the heartworm test is positive, the dog is treated to eradicate the heartworms and then placed on regular heartworm preventative. • Rabies vaccination • DHP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo) vaccination • Bordatella (kennel cough) vaccination • Flea and tick preventative • Microchip Our adoption donation requirements are as follows: • Puppies 6 months of age or younger require a donation of $350. • Dogs over 6 months and under 8 years old require a donation of $300. • Dogs 8 years and older require a donation of $250.
