In the shelter’s words

Looking for a best friend with a wagging tail and a heart of gold? Meet Pookah. This sweet 1 year old Shepherd mix was surrendered alongside her sister Penny by an owner who had taken on too many animals. Pookah is a gentle, affectionate girl who spreads joy to everyone she meets and happily soaks up the attention her kind spirit naturally attracts.Pookah has a lovely and distinctive tan, white, and black medium-length coat and big brown eyes that draw you right in. At 65 pounds, she is considered a large dog. She enjoys playing with other dogs and does well with children. Pookah has demonstrated her level of comfort with cats as she shares space with them in her foster home. Pookah is checking off all the boxes with her impeccable skill set. She has mastered house, crate and leash training. This girl is ready to pack her bags and move right on in and definitely ready to impress. Although Pookah is housetrained, it is important to remember that accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. If this beautiful Shepherd mix sounds like the perfect match for your home, apply now and let Pookah show you just how much love she has to give.* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Pookah is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees.
