In the shelter’s words

DOB 2/19/25 Hey there, everyone! I’m Pina, a cuddly and sweet but spicy and energetic tortoiseshell gal who flaunts my proverbial “tortitude” with flair and offers my opinions with confident panache. I know that I’d disappoint you if I didn’t live up to the tortie’s reputation of sassiness when being affectionate with my hoomans -- on my terms, of course. I was a friendly one-year-old stray, barely more than a kitten, with no momma or siblings in sight, when I first wandered up to Foster Meowmy’s next-door neighbor’s community-cat feeding station. Over the next few months, I became friends with Buddy, a big, gentle-giant Maine Coon, who also showed up at chow time, and after about three months, we wandered together over to Foster Meowmy’s backyard. This was when my health took a perilous turn when, just before the February arctic freeze hit, she found me collapsed and unresponsive in her backyard. She rushed me to the vet, who diagnosed and successfully treated me for a respiratory infection, and I still occasionally suffer from asthma as a leftover result of that nasty infection. To this day, I gratefully owe my life to Foster Meowmy, who was kind enough to bring both Buddy and me to live permanently inside. I had no problem with this because I’m very food-motivated, and I’m a champ at stealing Foster Meowmy’s snacks! I must congratulate myself for trading in my East Houston street smarts for a life of luxury where I can set up shop as my forever family’s fiercely loyal companion, ready to be the center of their attention. Could that be you? Are you ready for a classy force of nature, a main-character energy-cat who promises to steal your heart? Then arrange to meet me today! Since Foster Meowmy realizes that I’ll be most contented if I remain with my soulmate Buddy, she is insisting that Buddy and I be adopted as a bonded pair. We think it’d be the cat’s meow if we could be playmates and cuddle buddies while you’re at work or on vacation – and that arrangement probably works out best for you anyway. HOPE ID 26-0704-C058 Pina and Buddy’s $250 bonded-pair adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites. To apply online: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site that Pina and Buddy will be this weekend, email us at nancy.e.kline@hotmail.com, and a volunteer will get back to you.
