In the shelter’s words

Oreo's world changed in an instant. This handsome young adult boy, with the sweetest little markings on his nose, was returned to our rescue through no fault of his own. One day he had a home, and the next he found himself back in a shelter cage, quietly waiting and wondering what happened. Since his return, Oreo has spent much of his time sitting quietly in his crate. He doesn't understand why he was left behind. The confusion in his eyes is heartbreaking, because all Oreo wants is someone to love. Despite having his heart broken, Oreo remains one of the gentlest, sweetest cats you'll ever meet. He welcomes affection with open paws and returns it just as eagerly. A soft touch, a kind word, or a few moments of attention are all it takes to make him lean in for more. There isn't a mean bone in this precious boy's body. He also can be very playful * see video Oreo is quiet, easygoing, and seems to do well with other cats. But more than anything, we hope he won't have to spend much longer in a shelter environment. He seems out of sorts here, as though he's waiting for someone to come back for him. We would love nothing more than to see him settled into a loving home where he can finally feel secure again. Oreo deserves a family that will cherish him forever and never leave him wondering where he belongs. If you're looking for a gentle, affectionate companion with a heart full of love to give, please consider opening your home to Oreo. Oreo is about 1 year old as of June 2026. Please check out his video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/8k1eR8Ps0WA . NOTE: Oreo is so happy to be playing with his new foster family! His foster says, "Oreo is getting settled in well. I read his bio online and it perfectly describes him. He is a very affectionate and sweet boy who seeks attention by following me around and will rub against my legs; he enjoys being petted and is a purr machine. He doesn't seem to enjoy being picked up. He gets along with other cats (I have one cat) and doesn't mind dogs who are respectful and don't bother him. He is an all around great guy who would do well in a home where he gets the attention he is so deserving of." Does Oreo sound like the cat for you? Please submit our no-obligation Adoption Application for a meet and greet or to adopt: https://forgottencats.org/adoption-application/. Thank you! (Foster: Denise B.)
