Meet Rhea, a 2.5-year-old, 50-pound Pit Bull Terrier/Lab mix with a playful spirit and a heart full of affection! This sweet girl loves going for walks, playing fetch with her favorite tennis ball, and spending quality time with her people. She is eager to learn, enjoys training sessions, and is highly motivated by treats and attention. Once she gets to know you, Rhea's affectionate side shines, especially when ear scratches are involved!Rhea is house-trained and crate-trained, and she views her crate as her safe space. She settles quickly when left alone, sleeps comfortably in her crate, and is not prone to excessive barking or separation anxiety. She enjoys an active lifestyle with daily walks, games of fetch, and tug-of-war, so a home with a securely fenced yard would be ideal for giving her extra opportunities to play and burn off energy.Rhea has lived with a young child and was wonderfully patient and gentle with her 4-year-old housemate. She has also been assessed by trainers as dog-friendly, although she has not yet lived with another dog. She tends to get excited when she spots other dogs on walks and may show interest in greeting or playing with them. Her compatibility with cats is unknown.Rhea can be a little cautious when meeting new people, so she appreciates slow introductions and the chance to build trust at her own pace. She may not be everyone's instant best friend, but once she feels comfortable, she becomes a loving companion who enjoys being close to her favorite humans. Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
