In the shelter’s words
Meet Duke! This 3-year-old, 70 lb. guy is smart, loyal, and full of personality. He's crate trained, knows his basic commands, walks well on a leash, and is eager to learn. Duke loves toys, running and playing outside (supervised), and spending time with his people. He's also a big cuddle bug who thinks he's a lap dog and is happiest getting attention and belly rubs. Duke has some challenges with other dogs and resource guards his food, toys, bed, and people's attention. He also jumps and nips when excited. We recommend a home with adults or older children, preferably as the only dog. He may also be adopted with his best friend Holly by experienced owners prepared to manage their resource guarding. Duke is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and has received 12-month heartworm prevention.
